Kelly Powell, Director
Kelly
She / Her · Director
Kelly has been a paediatric Occupational Therapist for more than 35 years, working across the UK, USA, and Australia. She founded Amazing Kids OT 20 years ago and was the first OT only private practice in Geelong.

Kelly has worked across special schools, early intervention, government organisations, and private practice. She lectured in Paediatrics at Deakin University for seven years and has a real passion for keeping up with the latest evidence based OT practice. She holds post graduate qualifications in DIR Floortime and Sensory Integration, and is one of a small number of Australians qualified to deliver Robyn Gobbel's trauma informed Big Baffling Behaviours programme.

When she is not working, Kelly loves to travel, read, and spend playful time with her two grandchildren.

Kelsie Olds, Occupational Therapist at Amazing Kids OT
Kelsie "Mick" Olds
They / Them · Senior Occupational Therapist
Mick is an internationally qualified therapist with a Master's of Occupational Therapy (University of Oklahoma) and began working at AKOT in 2025. They have worked with children since 2018 in school, clinic, and home settings in the US, England, and Australia.

Mick practices child-led, play-based therapy. They specialise in working with clients with complex presentations, including clients with high support needs, gender diverse clients, and clients with PDA. Mick believes in focusing on what is meaningful to the child, and that play is the most meaningful activity in childhood, so they use play as a medium for therapy and connection.

Bree-Elle completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University and joined Amazing Kids OT in 2024. Before becoming an OT, she completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences and worked as a support worker, where she developed a real passion for helping people with disability live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Bree-Elle loves working with children and is passionate about helping them grow into confident, capable individuals who feel connected to the people and activities that matter most to them. She delivers fun, engaging, and client-centred therapy that supports children and families to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

When she is not at work, you will find Bree-Elle playing netball, cooking, baking, travelling, spending time with family and friends, or hanging out with her family dog.

Mietta completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University and joined Amazing Kids in 2025. She has been working with children since 2018 across a range of roles, building a strong understanding of child development and family-centred practice.

Mietta particularly enjoys working with younger children and uses a child-led, play-based approach to make therapy engaging, meaningful, and fun. She is passionate about creating a safe and accessible space for children with heightened nervous systems, using sensory tools and regulation strategies to support their wellbeing. Mietta values strong, trusting relationships with families, supporting them to understand their child's unique profile, make sense of the "why" behind their experiences, and build confidence in their capacity to support their child across everyday environments.

Laura completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University and began working at Amazing Kids OT in 2025. She enjoys working with her young people, using a child led, play based approach whilst collaborating with both parents and teachers to support the child in their natural environments, at home and school.

Amy O'Meara, Occupational Therapist

Amy holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, both completed at Deakin University, graduating as an OT in 2018. She is a paediatric Occupational Therapist with over six years of experience across private practice and non traditional therapy settings, including Surf Therapy and camps for Autistic young people.

Amy is passionate about providing neuro affirming, child led, and strengths based support that empowers young people and their families. Her sessions are playful, relationship focused, and tailored to each child's interests. She especially enjoys incorporating outdoor and movement based activities into therapy, with obstacle courses being one of her favourites.

Outside of work, Amy loves beach and bush walks with her two dogs, surfing, reading, and being creative.

Jess is in her final year of completing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University, having initially begun her studies in physiotherapy before discovering her true passion in paediatric OT. She joined the AKOT team in March 2023 and now works across both admin and as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Jess is fun loving and brings a warm, engaging energy to her work with children. She enjoys supporting kids through play based, strengths focused OT, creating an environment where they feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.

When she has spare time between work and uni, Jess enjoys travelling, all things outdoors, and challenging herself with new experiences and adventures.

Adele is currently completing her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University and joined the Amazing Kids OT team in December 2025. She was delighted to return to the team as a casual Occupational Therapy Assistant while continuing her studies, which she expects to complete in 2028.

Deb is the Practice Manager at Amazing Kids OT, bringing over 35 years of experience across a wide range of small business environments. Since joining the AKOT team in July 2024, she has been dedicated to optimising operations through effective processes and procedures, and creating a safe, fun, and efficient space for both staff and families.

Our story
A team built on experience and care

At Amazing Kids OT, we are proud to have a passionate and experienced team of occupational therapists who bring a wide range of clinical knowledge, specialised training, and diverse backgrounds to their work with children and families.

Our team includes therapists with decades of experience, as well as fresh, enthusiastic graduates who bring new energy and ideas. Collectively, our therapists have worked across a variety of settings, including private practice, early intervention, community health, special education, hospitals, and trauma informed services, both in Australia and internationally.

We are committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with evidence based practices. Our therapists have completed advanced training in areas such as:
