GETTING READY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your first visit, made simple
New places can feel daunting, especially for kids. Here is exactly what to expect when you visit Amazing Kids OT for the first time, so there are no surprises on the day.
Step one
Before your visit
Once your appointment is confirmed, we will send you some short forms to complete online. This helps us get to know your child a little before we meet them, so we can make the most of your first session together.
Step two
Arriving and parking
Amazing Kids OT is located at 288 Yarra Street, South Geelong. There is parking available nearby on Yarra Street and the surrounding side streets. When you arrive, simply come in and let our friendly admin team know you have arrived.
Step three
Our waiting space
Our waiting area is a child friendly, welcoming space designed with children in mind. Feel free to settle in, and your OT will come and greet you and your child when they are ready.
Step four
Your initial appointment
Before your child's first session, we will arrange a brief appointment with just you as the parent or carer, choose to have it either here at the clinic or via telehealth, whichever suits you best. This gives us a chance to properly understand your child's history, your goals, and what matters most to your family, without your child needing to be present.
Step five
Your child's first visit
Your child's first appointment is a relaxed opportunity for your OT to get to know them through play and conversation. There is no pressure for your child to perform or impress, this is simply about connection and understanding. At the end of the session, your OT will chat with you about what they have learned and what the next steps might look like.
